Individual Interactions

If the individual plans to travel with a battery-powered wheelchair, inform them of the following:

  • Check in one hour before the general public on aircraft with fewer than 60 seats
  • Clock, indicating that 48 hours of advance notice may be requiredprior to departure on aircraft with fewer than 60 seats48-hours advanced notice may be required prior to departure on aircraft with fewer than 60 seats
  • Try to bring written instructions, such as an index card, to assist airport personnel when loading and unloading the device.  These instructions can include:
  1. The location of the ignition and key
  2. The location of the brake or wheel lock release
  3. Which parts fold or collapse
  4. A list of removable parts
